Amongst the many strange and bewildering blogs that reside on the site dubbed 'Tumblr', one has grabbed the attention of many in the industries of film, fashion and anything that can be related to Pantone. This blog is named 'Wes Anderson Palettes' and it is the Ronseal of blogs. It does exactly what it says on the tin.
Wes Anderson is a well established and phenomenal director of films such as Fantastic Mr. Fox (top left), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (bottom left) and most recently, The Grand Budapest Hotel (top right). Alongside shorts, including Castello Cavalcanti (bottom right). Anderson is known for his use of centred shots (see the video below), along with colours and unique filming techniques, making for some enticing movie stills.
Using films as inspiration is no new fad, it has been done for many years and will be continued for many to come. However, specifically creating colour palettes out of single scenes is certainly a spectacle that most have not seen. Who better to start with than Wes Anderson? I have to say that I look forward to one for Quentin Tarantino films. Better yet; Zack Snyder - how many shades of red are there?!
