Scaramouche & Fandango Review: Part 2*

Tuesday, 22 April 2014

Those of you who read O&U regularly will know that I have already posted a review on Scaramouche & Fandango's bodywash, shampoo and conditioner. You will also know is that I said I would never buy one of their products thanks to the fact that a 200ml bottle of shampoo is £11. Soon after said review I was contacted by S&F... admittedly I was a little hesitant to open the email at first but eventually did so and read that they were thankful for the honest feedback, stating:

"It can sometimes be hard to take criticism but if our baby is ugly we don't want people to tell us otherwise just for the sake of it"

Not that I agree as their baby is so damn far from 'ugly', yet still incredibly wise words from such a young company! The email went on to offer for me to try out their Facescrub (Fs) and Hydrator (Hy), an offer that I gladly accepted. So 'Part 2' of the Scaramouche & Fandango review is of those two products. First I will add onto my love of their branding by saying that the products came wrapped in black-on-black S&F branded tissue paper... I am not proud of how amazed I was by this.

The Facescrubalthough priced at £8 for 100mlis far more deserving of the price-point given. I'd be more willing to spend that kind of money on a good face scrub than I would be willing to spend £11 on a good body wash. It's all relative I suppose. I used the scrub every day for a week to test it and I came out with far fewer blemishes and far softer skin than I went in with. It all comes down to the fact that it works and it works very well.

The Hydrator is obviously a more many name for a moisturiser but it has the Ronseal selling point: It does exactly what it says on the tin... or bottle. It's refreshing, hydrating and it doesn't take that much to work which is always a high point. Priced at £10 for a 100ml bottle it is probably on the brink of being too expensive but it can be as refreshing as splashing your face with ice cold water and therefore they can be forgiven.

There aren't really any major negatives to these products that I can think of. I'd probably prefer a pump bottle but that is just me being picky. Although the pricing is still rather high, these two products are far more deserving of their prices in comparison to the bodywash, shampoo and condition. Also, they certainly aren't the most expensive products of their type on the market.

Overall I recommend Scaramouche & Fandango as a brand that has definitely got their branding right (I can't stress that enought). Furthermore, I would definitely recommend the Facescrub and Hydrator

Cheers guys,
O&U.
