To compliment the Flaviar Subscription post that went live on Sunday, I thought I'd put up my collaboration with Jack Daniel's. I've been meaning to work with Jack Daniel's for some time now; I was invited to a run of gigs at The Macbeth ran by them (Jack Rocks The Macbeth), yet things kept getting in the way last minute. Seriously, it sucked. So I am incredibly happy to finally have it all come together.
For this collaboration, Jack Daniel's sent me out a bottle of their famous No.7 Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey, along with the mixers necessary (in awesome little bottles I hasten to add) and a couple of glasses. All so I could create a Lynchburg Lemonade®.
Lynchburg Lemonade®
Ingredients:
1 part Jack Daniel's Old No. 7
1 part triple sec
1 part sour mix
4 parts lemon-lime soda
Instructions:
Combine and stir. Garnish with a lemon slice and cherry.
(Seriously, this is the easiest cocktail to make. I'm not even sure if it should be classed as a cocktail... it's a mildly complicated drink)

This is a sweet drink, both in taste and in the 'Dude, Where's My Car?' kind of sense. It is incredibly surprising that I liked it; usually my face scrunches up like a prune with drinks this sweet. Yet the addition of the sour mix and whiskey subdues it somewhat. Thus avoiding the prune.
It's difficult to review a drink like this as I don't know what your taste is like. When tasting a variety of Badger Beers with my dad it was a lot easier; our opinions could be compared and contrasted to give a rough depiction of what you will taste when you try it. With this, all I can say is that if you like lemonade (especially cloudy lemonade), it is going to be worth a try.
Best Served: Outdoors on a sunny day and as cold as your teeth can handle. Ensure you have ice. I happen to not have a freezer which makes ice an awkward affair (although I was later reminded by The Cabinet Rooms that I live next door to a pub).
