Company Style Blogger Awards 2014: The Event

Thursday, 19 June 2014

Company Magazine has held the Company Style Blogger Awards for three years running now and has made it into the place to be for both established and newcomer blogs all over the internet. Getting to go to it for any reason would have been more than I had ever imagined to come out of this blogging stuff, but to go thanks to being shortlisted for an award was fucking fantastic, so Beth and I went to check it out. Here's what it was like...

To start off with there was a strangely beautiful view from the rooftop terrace, along with a BBQ (courtesy of Heck Food - They genuinely do some damn good sausages), and free drinks. My drink of choice for the night was Kopparberg 'Cloudberry', since they had no beer or rum. I'll be honest, the more I had, the more I started to ask people what the hell a 'Cloudberry' is.

Being a blogger event, you can imagine that everyone was dressed impeccably and honed their own personal styles perfectly. My decision was to go smart-casual for the night and this is the outfit I ended up with:
(I don't think they anticipated anyone being over 6ft)

This year happened to mark the first time that male blogs have been recognised in the awards which made it a huge honour to be shortlisted for the award.

Steve Booker (pictured below on the left with myself and YouTuber Louis Cole - two of the loveliest guys around) took home the well-deserved award and I was gobsmacked when my blog was read out to get the 'Highly Commended' award. Far more than I had ever expected!

The event was something I will remember for the rest of my life and I owe every single one of you for making this happen. I met so many genuinely amazing people who inspire me to go further than I had ever thought I could with O&U.

Cheers guys,

O&U.

P.S. I'm going to be eating sausages for every meal for the next week.
