Shoes have always been a love of mine, both because they have such potential for beauty and individuality, but also because they are possibly the most essential and practical element of your wardrobe. Although we have evolved with feet that were meant to be bare, they were meant to be bare on grass, soil and generally soft surfaces, not tarmac and concrete. This is exactly why shoes are key - a bad quality shirt isn't going to hurt your back, however bad quality shoes can do some serious damage. Cue the Base London Cylinder monk strap brogues found on Shuperb.
These have to be some of the most stunning shoes I have ever owned, along with being incredibly comfy (although my heels hurt after a whole day on them). The deep cocoa colour works with everything and although they are monk strap brogues, they aren't over the top. My one criticism is simply wish that they made these shoes in black as well.
I have been seriously impressed by the quality of Base London shoes and would definitely recommend taking a look at what they have to offer (find a selection here).

DeleteGreat post R! Those shoes are amazing! Many years ago I had a 'blind' obsession with shoes (randomly buying any shape and colour!). Since then I've calmed down (sort of) but still really struggle to resist a good quality pair of shoes.
ReplyDeleteI will always struggle to resist shoes. If I love them, I have to have them - end of discussion. My thoughts are that it's rare to truly love shoes so life is too short to say no!
