Once upon a time, I would have told anyone about how trainers were not my style and how that would stick throughout life. Well, that's the beauty of time, it changes everything whether you think it will or not. Since this, I have learnt to go with the flow; to stop saying that things are a definite when fluctuations in taste are inevitable. I now love trainers and I can only imagine that I will decide that I hate them again in another five years. Until that happens, the L.ight LT12 from Lacoste Spring/Summer 2015 collection will remain a contender for my trainer top spot. I love them.
Lacoste is one of those brands that has an incredible history and such renowned, undisputed quality, yet suffered mildly in some opinions due to the people that typically wore it during the late nineties and early naughties (something I touched on in my post about Henri Lloyd). This was to such an extent that, when foraying into the world of trainers, I was quick to rule out buying a pair from Lacoste. This was a mistake.

The Lacoste shoe game is strong. I mean look at these... why did I go against this? I've been missing out. What I love so much about them is that they're not the standard trainers that have been altered slightly and given a different name and logo by a yet another company. Take a closer look and you'll notice that they've been constructed to be one complete part (the upper and tongue that is, not the entire shoe), so the laces don't pull the parts together, they simply tighten what is already a well fitted shoe, making them incredibly comfy. I have worn them around Nottingham city centre for a day and loved them, yet they are versatile enough that they would be equally as at home at the seaside also.
Something that further impresses me about Lacoste is that they haven't lost their roots. The tennis side of style will stay strong within the brand forever as they continue to pull through influences into this collection. Although the L.ight LT12 are designed to work into the current lifestyle running trend, the bonded seams, heel pull tab and punched heel linings are all subtle nods to the tennis heritage. Along with this, the logo will forever be iconic (and one of the best logos out there).

Really cool trainers. I have to admit that I usually steer clear of wearing trainers in non-sporting situations but you may have me converted here. Great design and they look pretty comfortable too!
