Visit Wales and Berghaus have teamed up for a new campaign, 'Pack for Wales', and kindly asked me to take part. The idea is for me to show you guys what I would pack if I were to go to Wales to take part in one of the numerous activities available. I will admit that a post entirely based on the hypothetical is new to me, but I immediately wanted to plan a trip to Wales after only a little bit of research. So consider this as early preparation on my behalf... Here are some of the things I would pack to go to Wales.
Obviously I would pack more when really going to Wales... boxers and socks would come in handy, and clothes would be preferred. However I was not willing to hang all of those things on a fence to take photos. Instead, here are a few of the things that I was willing to hang on a fence and that seemed most relevant...
I do believe that everything else is rather self-explanatory: Charger, notepad (the weather-proof thing is cool though, right?), thermal mug, head torch, standard touristy book, instant camera, and my beloved bright blue Penfield coat. What more could you want?
I would also take my Olympus E-P5, but it was hard to add as I needed it to take these pictures...
To me, the Fuji Instax Mini 8 has to be the most important part of this. As I find myself spending more and more time online, with O&U developing into something that is keeping me continuously busy and connected to technology, suddenly having something analogue keeps me grounded in what is really going on around me.
If you are going to go to Wales soon, or are planning to go in the future, I did find that a bit of research will make you want to go there tomorrow. Check out the Visit Wales website as there is something for everyone. Personally, I am really excited about the idea of heading toward Blaenau Ffestiniog (say that three times fast), to go down into a hidden 176-year old disused cavern filled with huge bouncy nets. Seriously, Bounce Below exists and I need to experience it! Preferably with some form of action camera.
What would/will you Pack for Wales?
Cheers guys,
O&U.
